"the middle of a long road" Imagine for a moment you are climbing a very tall mountain, or perhaps on a very long road trip, or standing in the center of a road. There have already been many challenges and many tribulations. You arrive at the next look out point, or pull over at a Rest Area. This place is beautiful, you are beautiful here, it is the best view you've ever seen. You begin to settle in, not thinking about where you cam from or where you're going, complacent to stay in this "better than before" state of being. For a while it is wonderful, you are taking strides all around this plane of elevation. Then one day you look around and everything is a mess here, your comfortability is shaken. You remember you're only a tenth of the way through your road trip. You look up and see a another point above you on the mountain, but the climb looks hard and when you really think about it you're less than a cosmic days journey from the last Rest Area. You're tired, so you stay exactly where you are. Still better than before right? But is that good enough? Everyday you look up and remember the feeling of the first look out onto the most beautiful place you've ever seen, you imagine what the next place on your journey might be like. You think about how tiresome it grows to know exactly what you have to do to move forward and that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing but expecting a different result. Where is the line that makes you pack up camp and keep moving forward? When do you realize you're spending your time, money, and spiritual energy in staying exactly where you are? Reliant on the people and things in this place for self fulfilment knowing the most rewarding thing will be looking within yourself for the strength to take that first step towards your next checkpoint. For me it's time to clean house, physically mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. To stop relying on the accpetance of others, to stop pretending one step is enough. To stop living one foot in and foot out of something more of seeking the truth at all times. It's time to look over the edge, breathe into it, and just jump. In that leap you are whole.
